Rathinirvedam is a big success

So it’s official. Rathichechi came back after more than three decades and has set the screens ablaze. Yes, we are talking about the remade version of Rathinirvedam, directed by T K Rajeev Kumar. The new version (the original Rathinirvedam that came out in 1978 was directed by Bharathan and scripted by P Padmarajan) has Swetha Menon playing the sexy woman named Rathi. A teenager named Pappu, who is younger to her, falls for the older woman.

The film, made on a moderate budget by Suresh Kumar under the banner of Revathy Kalamandir, had got the money back through satellite rights alone even before the film reached the movie halls. With a whopping collection right from day one, Rathinirvedam is a winner all the way.
