NYJC Sports Carnival 2007

I'm DAMN TIRED now!

Woke up at 5am this morning to catch the first bus to tampines!
5am ok!

so yeah... sports carnival...
frisbee, dragonboat and 1km run
Each class had to send people for the different events

Took part in the 10men dragonboat race
my class has 4 guys and a girl from dragonboat and we.... LOST! :(
Oh man, we were so confident that we gonna win but...
oh well
2nd isn't bad

took part in the 1km run too
had to borrow shoes from wanton because it was a last minute decision and I didnt bring my shoes
And we.... finished 2nd behind the same team that we lost in dragonboat :(

Anyway, had loads of fun today
my class was SUPER HIGH
If there was a "most enthu class" award, 0716 will win it for SURE!

The eh... S CLUB 7, we gave ourselves girls names
Sheila, Serene, Sandy, Sharon, Stephanie, Sally, Stella
The 10 dragonboaters :)

I miss competitive soccer :(

Went to the grandstand to watch a friendly soccer match after gym...
It was between NYJC and Victoria B'div
Yup, they played against Sec 3s and 4s
and.... NYJC lost 0-1!!

Oh man, I think Amkss B'div can beat NYJC too...

As I was watching, I realised that I miss playing competitive soccer!
The last time I played field soccer with boots on was many months ago!
I also miss Mr Ling's yelling
I think Mr Ling is a darn good coach!
His concept of soccer is to always have lots of communication, determination, concentration and teamwork!!
He wants you to always chase hard and play hard
He hates half-hearted tackles, blocks and shots etc
He doesn't need exceptionally skillful players to win

Haiz...
That was exactly what NYJC kinda lacked today...
I couldn't hear the players shouting and communicating
There were instances where 3 players went for the same Victorian player and they didn't get the ball!!!
The coach should be blamed for not emphasizing the fundamental concepts that worked so well for Mr Ling

Oh man, I really really miss playing competitive soccer
Did I mention how much I enjoyed myself at the CAGE on last Sunday?
I felt soooo good playing the sports that I've played for 4 years
Sometimes I really wonder if I made the right choice to discontinue soccer in JC
How nice if I'm able to take up both soccer and dragonboat...

Because NYJC's having their sports carnival on the same morning...

My new timetable SUCKS!!!
Monday and Tuesday end at 4.30
Wednesday - 2.30 and that's the earliest BUT Wednesday is CCA day and the whole school is dismissed at 2.30. So, it makes no difference!
Thursday - 3.30!
and Friday - 5.00!!!

My next 2 years in JC is gonna be miserable!
I can see the future...
except on wednesday when there's DB training...
every other weekday after school will either be the gym or going home to study.
then weekends, besides having DB training, I'll be doing my tutorials!
So no life can!
I just hope it doesn't turn out like I've thought.

Jun Xian was really sweet to plan the surprise celebration for her!
He gathered some of the 4/fiviens and her friends at AMKSS and 'tricked' her to come to school
then surprise!

It felt sooooo good to be back at AMKSS
Clad in NYJC uniform, the senior-y feeling was good :) haha
It was great to see my ex-classmates in their different colleges uniforms too
I miss the green AMKSS uniform
well, korky was wearing his SAJC tie and we just had to put on ours too =)

Anyway, my pae class ponned the camp on friday and we went to east coast park! :)

Level Camp day 1

In the morning, the picture I had for the camp was a group of young and hyper leaders leading us in the usual teambuilding games.
It's gonna be fun, I thought...

Instead, the leaders/trainers was a group of adults in their 30s?
yes yes, those trainers have lots of experience and degrees in this and that...
but... It just didn't work.

My house, Pegasus (blue) spent the first 4 hours in LT4 listening to a lecture about knowing yourself and others and goal setting?

We've done that for umpteen times since we started wearing uniforms a decade ago!
Lame shit!

And every NYJCians knows that LT4 is actually a refrigerator in disguise!
Yes, the air-con is so strong that I was worried I would get frostbites
So basically, we were in a torture chamber!
we were starving to death; freezing to death and were bored to death!
"Somebody save me" by Remy Zero was playing in my head the whole time.

In the end, some of us went to the canteen for fooooooood
goooooood choice!
Ah, I love the mee goreng from the malay stall :)

Played games after lunch
the games were pretty alright lah...
got dismissed at 5pm

the programme tomorrow is about the same :(
yes, the first 4 hours will be in the "fridge" again...
Well, I'm not going to play smart by bringing a jacket...
because I'm gonna play even smarter and pon the first 4 hours! :D

Orientation 2

Was Orientation 2 fun?
compared to the first one...
Erm, wait a minute.
Both Orientations were not fun fun but not to the extent that I'll ask for more.
Anyway, I just feel that the 1st one was a tad better.
My tribe members were fun people though...

The OGLs for O2 were students from the 1st intake
they did good but one has to admit that the leaders (J2s) for O1 was better.

Oh oh, the most unforgettable program of O2 has to be disco night.
Yes, unforgettable because it sucked so bad.
more specifically, the AVA dude up there in the gallery has a disgusting taste for music.

The NYJC dragonboat team is in a crisis.

In a crisis because we do not have enough people :(
I remembered there was about 60 of us during the first DB orientation
and now there are only about 20 of us remaining from the '60'
We need more people!!!

Training was gooood today!
2nd intakers had their orientation while the 1st intakers........
got to row the 'champion' boat using the 'T-paddles'!!!
total coolness!
the 'champion' boat was much lighter than those SDBA boats that we used for past trainings
the 'T-paddles' were lighter too!
So basically, all of us felt stronger than before!

Last day of PAE :(
it's the signal to the end of ponning lessons
so the rest of this week will be orientation etc
it may or may not be boring
it all depends on how crazy my new OG will be

Anyway, my classs attended only an hour of lesson today before going to J8 for a movie :)
watched pursuit of happyness
good show...
but somehow, most of my classmates found it boring and some even fell asleep
Oh well...
