Priyanka Nair in Orma Maathram

She is easily one of the finest actors in Malayalam cinema now. But it was the Tamil film Veyyil that got her instant recognition. After films like Vilapangalkkappuram and Bhoomi Malayalam  she had the ‘serious actor’ tag. The failure of Samasthakeralam P O  didn’t help things either.

Now Priyanka is hoping to become active again with Madhu Kaithapram’s Orma Maathram, in which she plays Dileep’s wife. Her character is called Safiya and she is a normal housewife. A tragedy happens to the couple and that is what the film is all about.

Priyanka hopes that this will begin a new phase for her, in Malayalam.
