The wait for Mankatha goes on

The wait for Mankatha drags further on; with director Venkat Prabhu revealing that Sony Music could only deliver the audio during the second week of August. Though this has come as a disappointment for Ajith fans worldover, the director’s assurance that Mankatha will hit the marquee in August for sure has come as a welcome respite for many who had been enduring this long wait.

The expectation for Mankatha is skyrocketing because it happens to be Ajith’s 50th film. The film also stars Trisha, Arjun, Lakshmi Rai and others. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for this film.

Tamannah wants Vikram!

Vikram has once again proved he is a versatile actor in Deiva Thirumagal. The stars histrionics has won him rave reviews and naturally several actresses in Kollywood are vying to share the screen space with him.

One such actress is Tamannah. The actress has said that she wishes to play Vikram’s onscreen pair in one of this future projects. Tamannah has paired up with almost all the leading stars in Kollywood including Dhanush, Vijay, Karthi, Suriya and Jayam Ravi but she never got the opportunity to star with Vikram.

Following the massive hit of Deiva Thirumagal, she has let word circulating that she is keen on working with Vikram.

Jeeva concentrates on his fan club

Actor Jeeva's managers have adviced him to stabilize his fan club before releasing his next movie, as they feel that it is time for the actor to have a solid fan following!

Understanding the requirement, Jeeva is now busy making fan clubs, not just within Tamil Nadu, but all over the world.

As of now he has formed a fan club in UK and also recently in Australia.

As his movie Ko being made as Rowthiram in Telugu, Jeeva is also busy concentrating in Andhra!

Why Vijay has become like this?

Is actor Vijay behaving so cheap? In the case of Nanban, Vijay is said to have snatched the opportunity from actor Surya, and here is another news which says that he has snatched one from Thala Ajith!!!

'Thuppariyum Anand', a film from Sivaji Productions being directed by Gowtham Menon is going to be made, even though it went into some rough weather after the initial discussions.

The movie was planned having Ajith in the lead role, but now confirmed sources say it is Vijay to take the lead role in this movie.

AR Rahman will do music for this movie.  Shooting for the movie will be held in Chennai and also in London.

Who will KV pick in Telugu?

With the dub of 'Ayan' and 'Ko' in Telugu as 'Veedokkade' and 'Rangam,' KV is a hot property in the Andhra lands as well.

We had earlier told you that Telugu hero Junior NTR approached KV Anand, while KV was working on the pre-production details of Suriya's 'Maatraan.' Junior NTR had requested that KV Anand should do Telugu films and also expressed his desire to work with the director to which KV agreed and it was said that the duo will work together for a Telugu film after 'Maatraan.'

And now, a similar something has happened as another top-notch Telugu hero Mahesh Babu has approached KV Anand and requested the ace director to come up with a script for him, for which KV seems to have given his nod.

So which Telugu project will KV Anand kick-start after 'Maatraan' with Suriya, we'll have to wait to know...

Jiiva and 'Jayam' Ravi in Jananathan's next

Director S P Jananathan's next venture will feature 'Jayam' Ravi and Jiiva as protagonists, and it is going to be a political thriller with a message to today's youngsters.

Known for taking a dig at the system in his movies, Jananathan says, "I am happy to bring together Jiiva and Jayam Ravi. The film will be a bilingual and will be simultaneously made in Telugu too."

Remember Jananathan had earlier worked with Jiiva in 'Ee' and with 'Jayam' Ravi in 'Peranmai'. "Both are good actors and I share a very good rapport with them. So my job has become easy for my forthcoming movie," he says.

The director is on the lookout for a heroine. "Yes, there will be only one leading lady in this film. The movie will have all the necessary elements youngsters would look for. It will go on floors soon," concludes Jananathan.

'Billa 2' from this weekend

Things can't get bigger than this for Ajith fans. Even as 'Mankatha', their Thala's 50th film, is gearing up to hit the screens, shooting for the matinee idol's next movie 'Billa 2' will start from this weekend.

According to sources, the Chakri Toleti directed film will hit the floors in Hyderabad in a few days. "The 'Unnaipol Oruvan' director has completed the script and is currently busy with the ground work."

A prequel to 'Billa', 'Billa 2' will throw light on how an ordinary youngster David becomes a dreaded don Billa. "Ajith will be seen in a suave look in the film. Special care is being taken for his looks and costumes," sources say.

On the 'Mankatha' front, the cast and crew are planning to hold an audio launch in Chennai soon. Director Venkat Prabhu is optimistic about the film's prospects in the box-office, saying, "Mankatha will be a treat to Thala fans."

Simbu croons for 'Osthi,' tries Tirunelveli dialect

Simbu, who is currently shooting for 'Osthi,' is concentrating on his look for a fit and sculpted physique and is believed to be hitting the gym regularly for looking original in a cop's attire. He is also believed to have asked the original hero Salman Khan to shed a few tips for maintaining a fit body.

There are confirmed reports now that Simbu has written and sung a song for 'Osthi.' The actor is believed to have dedicated the song to all the wives because the lyrics in the song suggest so. Simbu has wielded the mic in most of the films that he has starred and almost all the songs have been chartbusters. It is just a matter of time to see if this song would click as well.

Richa will be starring opposite Simbu in this film with supporting roles from Revathi, VTV Ganesh, Jithen Ramesh and Madhu Shalini.

There are reports that suggest that Simbu is learning the nuances of Tirunelveli dialect. In the original too Salman has delivered a gruff Bihari accent. It looks like Simbu is also leaving no stones unturned and is looking at all perspectives to make the remake mint gold at the box-office.
