Jessica Names Her Price
Jessica Simpson’s new documentary show about female looks is called The Price Of Beauty. But producers already know the price of beauty – it’s around 12,000 pound sterling an hour.
That’s how much it is costing to get Simpson camera ready for the series, in which Jessica travels the globe to examine how women in different cultures achieve their looks. ‘She is insisting on using all her own hair, make-up and fashion stylists’, says a source. ‘They’re even more expensive than J.Lo’s people,’ adds the source.
However, given all the publicity that Simpson has recently generated with the whole Tony Romo break-up, no one is prepared to put their foot down.
Anyway, it’s not like you can do a beauty show fronted by someone who packs on a load of weight and wears unflattering mom jeans…

That Gerard Butler does get around. The hunky Scottish actor has recently been linked to both Jennifer Aniston and Paris Hilton, and had yet another actress in his sights recently. We heard that Gerard ‘flirted up a storm’ with Damages star Rose Byrne in New York’s SoHo Grand. ‘He spent the entire evening chatting only to her,’ says our witness. ‘He seemed very smitten.’ Don’t worry, he’ll soon move on…

Katie Price has confessed that she tried being a different person than what she was during the five years she lived with Peter Andre. The actress revealed that she had put on a good wife act to make her singer hubby happy. Now, Peter is totally ready to take on her former flame after he has gone public and accused her of being a ‘despicable mother’, following the surfacing of her pictures with new love Alex Reid.
She reportedly told a friend: “I don’t care if I ruin him. I’ve told that to my lawyers. I want to bring him down. I’ve lived a lie with him for so long. And I really tried. I was never going to leave him because I believe you try and make things work. There’s just no way I could."

The film is due to start shooting shortly and insiders have said Holmes was in line to play a tough businesswoman who knocks heads with Samantha, aka Kim Cattrall. But Holmes’ spokesman has said he’s baffled by the reports: ‘There is absolutely no truth to these claims.’



Book On Paris To Tell All
The man who oversaw Paris Hilton’s rise to stardom is shopping a tell-all book, in which he threatens to expose the starlet’s innermost secrets.
Jason Moore, who repped Hilton for ten years before they parted company last year, has called the book Controlling Chaos and says he will expose the tricks he used to turn the heiress into a global icon. ‘Jason will show how he managed to save his client from disgrace by manipulating the media and Paris herself,’ claims the book proposal. Hilton, who is reputed to be back with recent ex Dough Reinhardt, has yet to comment on the proposal but since Moore never signed a confidentiality agreement, she may be powerless to stop him. The book claims: ‘If Paris Hilton didn’t have Jason Moore pulling the strings, she could well have faded into oblivion.’

Could Katherine Heigl be turning into Hollywood’s most unpopular woman? The actress is now getting it in the neck from her former co-star, the normally mild-mannered Seth Rogen. Rogen, who appeared with Heigl in the smash hit Knocked Up, says he was upset when she later labelled the film ‘sexist’ and that it ‘painted women as shrews’. ‘Maybe she was just tired after doing six hours of interviews, but I was upset. She didn’t call me later to explain. But I gotta say, it’s not like we’re the only people she’s said crazy things about recently. That’s kind of her bag now;’ Rogen said Heigl has also upset the producers on her TV show Grey’s Anatomy when she went on David Letterman’s show last week to complain that she was ‘forced’ to work a 17-hour day on her first day back, which she called ‘mean and cruel’. ‘What she didn’t mention is that the schedule was amended to suit her. Producers shuffled things around so she could promote her new movie. Then she thanks them by going on national TV to embarrass them,’ one insider said.

Jessica is no longer on that list and is not approved for access.’ Not that Jessica wants access. We hear that as soon as she got her marching orders, she paid over 10,000 pounds to have nearly 40 boxes of her stuff flown overnight to her LA home.The growing acrimony between the two may have something to do with reports that Romo was getting close to one of Jessica’s fans long before they split. According to pals of Natalie Smith, she was introduced to Romo following one of his ex’s concerts in February.

Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre has been left devastated after movie bosses gave her role in the third installment of the vampire saga to rival actress Bryce Dallas Howard – and she’s considering to sue the company.
After Twilight saga bosses revealed the casting news, citing a “scheduling problem” the stunned actress – who played red-haired vampire Victoria in Twilight and New Moon – released a statement saying, “I am greatly saddened….(and) deeply hurt,” said Rach.

Aniston Has The Best Personal Chef

Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston says that her celebrity friends prefer her home cooked food over expensive gourmet cuisine as her personal chef is the best cook in town.
The 40-year-old actress said that her home is their favourite eating joint and therefore she never has to dine alone.
“My friends love coming over, because they get fed. It's the best restaurant in town,” said Aniston.
“Her friends are in and out all the time. Jen's a homebody. It's been so much fun to create a place where everybody feels comfortable, like one big family,” said Jewels Elmore, who works as Aniston's private chef.
And Aniston credits her chef for introducing her to delicacies which she hated earlier.
“I used to hate fish but one day Jewels handed me this thing, and I tasted it.”
Salmon is now the actress' favourite along with brussels sprouts, another dish Aniston once disdained.

Sylvester To Be Awarded At Venice Film Festival
Sylvester Stallone will receive Glory to the Filmmaker award at Venice Film Festival this year.
Organisers have described him as "a very original filmmaker" and added that his films were "capable of tenderness even when dripping with blood".
They said in a statement: "Stallone's work has explored the brightest and darkest areas of the American dream." The ‘Rambo’ star is happy he is being recognised at the Italian event in which his stint as an actor and director in Hollywood will be one of the major highlights. "Being honoured at the Venice Film Festival is something I have always hoped would become a reality and now that it’s actually happened, it’s been well worth the wait," he said. The award is generally given to a person who has left a mark on contemporary cinema.
The 66th Venice Film Festival is scheduled from 2 September to 12 September.”

Victoria Beckham was said to have lived up to her Spice Girls’ nickname “Posh” after speaking in an accent resembling that of Queen Elizabeth II in a recent interview. The former singer was interviewed by Sky News presenter Eamonn Holmes, who noticed that the star had ditched her Essex-style vowels. Victoria was said to have revealed her new cut glass voice while discussing her new job as a judge on American Idol .
“I am so excited, I am just so happy to be a part of the show. I am a huge fan and so are my boys and so is David, so to be part of it is just great,” she said.
Holmes later commented: “Now the most interesting thing about all that to me is that Posh has now gone posh. A little bit of an American accent in there, but actually a very nice speaking voice.”

On a balmy Sunday afternoon, 23-year-old Jeet Dasgupta tears down a life-size poster of tennis pro Sania Mirza from his bedroom wall.
He scoffs, “Sania post her engagement isn't a hot male fantasy. Soon, she'll be talking kids.” In the pleasure playground of idol worship, betrothed female celebs enjoy second class citizenship. An online poll recently revealed that 58 per cent of readers felt that marriage would mark a fall in B-town queen Kareena Kapoor's star rating. A reader from Qatar declared, “Saying 'yes' will kill her image.”
Is it the fear of losing popularity that pressurises female icons to shy away from matrimony? Bebo, who's been spotted with a colossal solitaire of late, dispels engagement rumours, “Am I crazy to get married now when so many wonderful things are happening to my career? It can wait for two years.”
In the fragile world of glamour, why are rules different for the sexes? Adman Prahlad Kakkar says, “Once hitched, the brand value of a female star falls. She's no longer available as the subject of vicarious popular imagination. In India, marriage is associated with morality, so fans can't handle a married woman gyrating in a revealing outfit.”
An industry source says, “Rani Mukherji was the No 1 heroine after Hum Tum and Black. But, she turned herself into an exclusive Yashraj property, by secretly marrying producer Aditya Chopra. Today her career's scripted by him.”
The original 'It' girl of the '90s, Pooja Bedi recalls how her ex-husband wanted her to quit films post marriage. “Being in the industry involves gruelling outdoor schedules, scandalous gossip, alleged link-ups and controversies. Non-star partners are intimidated,” says Bedi.
Former model Walusha Robinson recalls, “Offers stopped as soon as I had my first child. Though I was only 20, suddenly, I was being doled out commercials that saw me playing either a mother or a wife.”

Madhur Bhandarkar points out, “The lifespan of an actress is short-lived. In a male-dominated industry, it takes at least three to four years to break through. Once an actress tastes success, it's hard to resist the glamour bug, which is why most heroines talk marriage after they've crossed their prime or delay marriage if they're young and seeing someone. Ironically, married heroes like Aamir or SRK are considered cool, but once Priyanka Chopra marries, she may be offered the role of a bhabhi.” He adds, “Most distributors, including corporate houses feel casting married actresses is risky as they're uncomfortable doing intimate scenes.”
B-town's biggest female brand icon - Aishwarya turned down the lead in the spoof Dostana saying the role was “too sexy for her married image.”
Kakkar says, “Youth sells! A married woman often carries with her the baggage of age.” No wonder then that 20-something newcomers like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Genelia D'Souza are nudging out 30-plus heroines from films and brand endorsements. Priyanka was heard saying, “No one in this industry is indispensable. Someone takes over from somebody.”
Actress Perizad Zorabian admits, “Married heroines tend to choose less risqué roles as there's a chance of offending their extended family. And, once you have children you have to compromise.” Perhaps this explains the self-imposed hiatus that stars like Jaya Bachchan, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol and Karishma Kapoor took, before being lured by the arc lights again. But 'comebacks' too are risky. Madhur says, “Audiences can't accept the physical changes in their female icons.”
Karisma Kapoor however dismisses the notion about actresses not getting good roles after marriage as a mere myth. “Does anybody in Hollywood ask Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep, who make one film in five years, whether they're coming back? Sharmila Tagore delivered some of her biggest hits after her children were born,” she retorts.
Actress Ayesha Takia, who recently tied the knot asks, “If our married actors can be treated professionally, why can't actresses be treated as professionally?”

Inside Jess And Tony’s Shock Split 
Pals of dumped Jessica Simpson say the TV star was left “blindsided” by boyfriend Tony Romo calling time on their 18-month relationship, the day before her birthday!
Tony ended things with Jess the day before her 29th birthday bash, leaving the star “heartbroken”.
And the rumour mill is awash with tales of Jess’s famously interfering dad, Joe being to blame, whist others insist Tony found recent texts from Jessica’s ex, John Mayer on her phone.
“They were hanging out and Tony picked up her phone and she got defensive about it. Tony found messages from John and went ballistic. Tony dumped her right then. He walked out and that was it,” spilled an insider.
Mischa’s huge breakdown!
Mischa Barton was last week taken by LA police to a hospital and placed under a rumoured 5150 hold – the same rule that saw Britney sectioned – over fears for her mental wellbeing.
The actress phoned police herself, citing a “medical issue”, although rumours abound that the star had overdosed.
“She is a mess. She is a suicidal, uninsurable mess,” one of the actress’s friends insisted.
“She is a tortured and troubled person. You can survive a bad review, but when you don’t show up for the premiere of your new film, it’s not a good sign of where your career is heading.” With another adding, “She had a freak out!”
And after she failed to show up for the premiere of her new movie, The Homecoming, furious producer Bingo Gubelmann blasted Mischa, saying, “it’s frustrating…, it’s hard to remember why we cast her.”

Crew members working on Robert Pattinson’s latest movie, Remember Me, have been issued a list of special rules, to try to stop the crazed behaviour of R. Patz fans.
With the New York movie set currently besieged by ‘robsessed’ fans, whose screaming and stalking have turned the star into a self-confessed “paranoid wreck”, producers have devised special instructions for crew to deal with the troubled actor.
“When they talk on their phones about the shoot, they need to make sure no one else is around,” spilled an insider. Adding that crew are encouraged to lie about what’s being filmed.

Justin Timberlake found himself in an aggressive face-off with a paparazzao in Beverly Hills recently, with sources divided on who was to blame for the very public confrontation.
While pals of the singer claim that Justin was “caught at the wrong time”, other onlookers have questioned JT’s diva-like behaviour as having led to the face-off.

Aishwarya had a chat with an international magazine recently during her visit to the Royal Ascot in London. Excerpts:


What do you think of the fashions you’ve seen here at Ascot?
Well it’s my first time at Ascot and it’s wonderful! The two aspects I always hear about are the presence of the royal family, and of course, the hats! So I was concerned I wouldn’t have time to put an outfit and a hat together in time. But we got it bang on.

Have you met Frieda Pinto? She’s tagged as India’s ‘next big thing’.
I haven’t had a chance to meet her but congratulations to her!
It seems in India people think of you as a real goddess. That must feel very surreal?
I just see me. It’s very humbling. The kind of love and adoration that your people give you is truly overwhelming and also it’s very personal.
You had a very ‘normal’ upbringing not like your husband, who grew up in a very high-profile family…
Inspite of him being born into a world of fame and film, something we have in common is that we have a very real atmosphere at home. To me it hasn’t felt like a huge change. It seems very normal and grounded.

You married two years ago. How did it change your life?
I’d be lying if I said there was no change. There was a new family who I immediately embraced as my own, and at the same time for me it was all very hectic in terms of scheduling. My husband and I both married in the middle of filming so it was straight back to work while adapting to this new phase in our lives.
Were you intimidated marrying into such a famous family?
I definitely knew the family very well. But was I intimidated at all? No, because my experience of celebrity and fame is that once you’ve experienced it, it can’t be any different. It was almost natural.

And you both work in the same industry, which must help…
We have freed ourselves as actors as my mother and father in-law did in the past. We enjoy our world, our jobs, but we also love spending time at home. We both are real foodies.
Did you have a crush on Abhishek from afar before you met?
No, but what’s strange is that we knew each other as teenagers, but we didn’t meet until I was making my first movie. He came to the location I was filming in and he and his crew joined us for dinner, and that is how we first met. We had different situations at the time but what was wonderful is that different people around us really believed we should be together.
Do you see children in your future?
Of course. We are a normal couple who love each other. It’s like five years ago I was asked if I saw marriage in my future, and I said, ‘of course!’ And now it’s children and again, ‘of course’.
Your mother-in-law Jaya went into politics after acting. Is this something you would consider?
I have never considered it but I think beliefs are something everybody can use. Some of us are blessed with opportunity where being a celebrity you have a larger and more receptive audience out there. So that is why I think it is only natural to lend your voice to generate impetus to help various causes.

Demi: It was rough growing up without a dad

Many celebs, like Demi, have dealt with the pain of seeing their parents split. In her new song ‘For The Love Of A Daughter’, which Demi wrote with Bill Beckett from The Academy Is…, she sings about her parents’ divorce. “It is really an emotional song for me. My parents got a divorce and it was difficult,” Demi confesses. For a while, Demi and her big sis, Dallas, were raised by single mother, until her mom remarried. “It was rough growing up for a while without a dad. But my stepdad is my father to me. He’s an amazing man,” she says.

‘I’m going through growth, change & failure…’

Selena admits that her life isn’t perfect but she’s definitely making it awesome anyway!

Talk about a busy summer! Selena’s gone from filming Ramona and Beezus in Vancouver to recording her debut CD in L.A. to premiering Princess Protection Program in Toronto - all while trying to figure out exactly who she is. That’s not easy for any girl! “I am going through growth, change, and failure, just like everyone else,” she admits.

Growth: Selena’s going from TV to the big screen & music! Wizards made Selena a star, but she wants to go beyond TV. “Life is about growing, not settling,” she says. Ramona, Selena’s first big screen role, is scheduled to hit theaters in March, and she put herself through “an intense boot camp” to challenge herself as a musician.

Change: Leaving Texas has made Selena grow up fast!
Filming in Canada without Demi was tough, but Selena’s finally back in L.A. with her BFF - yet that’s still 1,425 miles from Sel’s home state. “I miss you Texas,” she wrote on her website. But new Ramona pals Joey King and Hutch Dano taught Sel that change isn’t always so bad! She dished on set, “I’m surrounded by the best people.”

Failure: Boys and music haven’t always come easy.
After a rough winter of splitting from Nick and not recording her CD, Selena’s happy again! She’s hanging with Twilight’s Taylor - “He’s great,” Selena spills - and hopes to drop her album in September. “I’ve taken my time to find my sound,” she says. It’s a brand new Selena!

Brooke Shields Signs For Role In Family Comed
After a 10-year hiatus from mainstream movies, Brooke Shields is returning to the big screen in the family comedy Furry Vengeance.
Also joining the project are Dick Van Dyke, Ken Jeong and Samantha Bee.
The role marks the actress’s first mainstream film work since 1999, when she starred in James Toback’s hiphop drama Black And White. Since then, she has had parts in animated and DVD fare. Over the past decade Shields has concentrated on television and Broadway. She starred in the recently cancelled comedy-drama Lipstick Jungle.

Emma Watson To Attend Ivy League University In The US

She's always stressed that fame wouldn't stand in the way of her education, and now Emma Watson has confirmed where she'll be continuing her studies.
The brunette beauty has announced she'll attend Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she'll read Literature.
Emma, who gained three As in her A-level exams last year, will take up the place in autumn, after she's finished work on the final installment of the boy wizard series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
The France-born actress has said she hoped to "fade into the background a bit" once she starts her studies.

Miller Struggled With G.I. Joe Role
The Brit star plays a leather-clad spy in the film - and insists it was a challenge to move from dramas such as Factory Girl and The Edge Of Love to an all-action role. She explains, “G.I. Joe is not going to be the best acting work I've ever done. The guys I'm fighting are all really tall - and I'm not. I have to kick a lot of them in the head, so just learning to kick very high was a challenge. Looking like you're a good fighter is hard.” And the 27-year-old admits her performance was hindered by her costume - a black leather catsuit. Miller adds, "I won't be wearing one again. Squeezing myself into that with the aid of talcum powder every day for five months was more than enough. I could barely move in it."

Megan Fox Turns Down Bond Girl Role

Megan has declined to be the Bond girl in a forthcoming 007 movie in which she would have starred opposite Daniel Craig as one of his conquests.
The 23-year-old was reportedly lined up by producers, but she turned down the offer as she didn’t believe the role would further her career. "Megan might be interested in a villainous role if it was a central part of the movie but she is not interested in being just your usual type of Bond girl," said a source.
"She did consider an approach, but she won’t be doing James Bond while she’s so busy with other projects. She might consider it again in a few years’ time," said a source.

Mischa Barton Has Body Issues

Mischa Barton's personal demons not only is included an arrest, relationship breakups and a hospitalisation at a psychiatric ward – the actress is also struggling with a fluctuating weight and body image.
"She has big self-esteem issues... She hates her legs," says a source close to Barton. "She isn't comfortable with her body. It's been a big source of stress and self-hate."
Speculation about 23-year-old actress's weight and nasty comments from tabloids and blogs also fueled insecurity.
"She had a big problem with those photos of her cellulite… She didn't like it," says another source. "That just was something that contributed to her spiraling but she didn't do much to fix it because of her partying."
But when photos showed a thinner Barton, she took to her blog and spoke out about the "crazy press," telling fans that she's "happier and healthier than ever so there's no need to worry about me."

Chris Brown has once again show that the word ‘remorse’ is not in his vocabulary, by splashing out over Dhs1 million on a diamond-encrusted necklace that reads ‘Oops!’
Chris rocked up to Diddy’s white party in Beverly Hills, sporting the necklace and got close to Kanye West’s ex, Amber Rose before leaving with his Rihanna look-alike ‘friend’, singer Teyana.
“Chris has been a client of mine for some time now”, said jewellery maker Jason – owner of a store in Beverly Hills. “It’s always a pleasure to work for him because it gives me a chance to be creative. He came to me with a great idea and I am very pleased with the finished product.”
