The Hot News About POP Music

Dr Conrad Murray’s Offices Rummaged
Federal investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration have searched the offices of Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray. Around 12 DEA agents entered the building in Houston, Texas, with a warrant and accompanied by LAPD detectives.
A representative for the medic, who was with the king of pop when he died, said the morning raid was "a surprise to us and it was a surprise to the attorneys". His lawyer said police were looking for evidence of manslaughter.
The substance Diprivan - a powerful anaesthetic also known as Propofol - was found in the Thriller singer's home after he died. The investigation into his death is believed to centre around Michael's use of the sedative.
Dr Murray – who was reportedly paid £100,000 a month by the singer - is one of several physicians who have been interviewed in connection with Michael's death. Police say he is not a suspect. The medic said before the search: "I did not give Michael anything that should have led to his death. I do not know anything more than anyone else about what killed Michael - but it wasn't me.

Carla Croons At Mandela’s 91st Birthday Bash

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy played her first public gig since becoming France's First Lady recently, joining a star-studded line-up at a concert to mark Nelson Mandela's 91st birthday.
As her husband Nicolas Sarkozy cheered and clapped from the audience, the Italy-born beauty sang Bob Dylan hit Blowin' In The Wind accompanied by Eurythmics musician Dave Stewart. Last year, 41-year-old Carla said she wouldn't participate in any concerts while her husband was in office, although she has appeared on TV shows.
Organisers of the Mandela Day concert said she had decided to take part because of the Aids prevention work of the charities involved. It's a cause close to her heart - her brother Virginio died of the disease in 2006.
Other performers at the event, which took place at Radio City Hall in New York, included I Will Survive singer Gloria Gaynor, Lil' Kim, Alicia Keys and soul legend Aretha Franklin, who was given a standing ovation before she even sang a note.

"Rihanna Secretly Seeing Chris?

Rihanna and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown have sparked rumours they have rekindled their romance. The pair - who are barred from contacting each other after Chris pleaded guilty to felony assault last month following his altercation with Rihanna last February - both reportedly stayed at a Manhattan Hotel over the weekend. According to newspaper reports: "The two spent the weekend at a same luxury hotel under a cloak of secrecy. "They spent the next two days coming and going in separate chauffeured vehicles from the underground garage of the 52-storey building. The two appear to have taken great measures to avoid public exposure, including the use of decoy vehicles to throw off reporters and photographers."
The 'Run It' singer reached a plea bargain for attacking the Barbados-born beauty before his case went to trial. Under the terms of the agreement, Chris is the subject of a restraining order which sees him banned from coming within 50 yards of the 'Umbrella' singer.
If he is found to have violated the terms, he might lose the plea bargain - which saw him receive five years probation and 180 days of community labour rather than any jail time - and be charged with a misdemeanor.

Amy Winehouse Died In My Arms, Says Junkie Ex-husband

Amy Winehouse went into a fit after a three-day drugs binge. She stopped breathing and briefly died one night after a crazed three-day drugs bender back in 2007, her junkie ex-husband has revealed.
Blake Fielder-Civil, 27, who was divorced ten days ago from the singer, has revealed that he saved Amy by giving her the kiss of life. The couple had spent three days getting wasted on heroin and cocaine when Amy, 25, suddenly started foaming at the mouth and went into a fit.
"Her eyes suddenly went blank. She started having a fit on the bed. She slid down to the floor before I could stop her," he said.
"I was panicking. I didn't know how to help her. I was sobbing and crying out: 'Amy!'" Blake revealed that he put the Back To Black singer into the recovery position to stop her choking.
Blake described how he then blew into her mouth to resuscitate her. Her friend Juliet Ashby then rushed over to help and called a cab to take the singer to London's University College Hospital as she slipped in and out of a coma. Blake begged Amy to quit taking drugs after she nearly died during the bender back in August 2007 and a series of "mini seizures".
