BEAUTY Cool As A Cucumber

Use cucumber and its innumerable benefits for beautiful skin, inside out.

Cucumbers have always been associated with cooling properties, but do you know why the green fruit-cum-veggie is famous for it? With 90 per cent water content, cucumber is primarily a water body and its internal temperature is about 20 degrees cooler then the air temperature. Little wonder then that its natural refrigerating and refreshing effects have found a way into face washes, creams, scrubs and under-eye gels.
The cucumber plant was a popular skincare ingredient even in ancient times. Its thinly cut slices have been used as natural eye pads to soothe tiredness and puffiness and its juice blended with other kitchen-cupboard ingredients for cost-effective face masks and toners.

Eye Soother
Calm and condition the delicate skin around your eyes with cucumber as it helps in reducing dark circles. The most clichéd, but also the most effective stress-buster, this is especially comforting after late-night parties or a busy week at work spent in front of a computer screen. You will feel the tiredness in your eyes being washed away by the moist cucumber in a matter of minutes.

Skin Food
Cucumber contains vitamin C and caffeic acid, both of which soothe skin irritations. Its hard skin is rich in fibre and a variety of minerals, including silica, potassium and magnesium, all of which are excellent for your complexion’s health. “It astringent quality is best suitable for oily and combination skin and it also protects the skin from sunburn.

Home Recipe
Blend cucumber juice with lemon for toning and with tomato juice for cleansing oily skin. Cooling and toning are cucumber’s twin benefits. For dry skin, blend grated cucumber with a paste of ripe banana, but make sure to use only organic cucumber for all your beauty treatments.
Buy dark green cucumbers with a bumpy surface, as they are most fresh and cool.

All Things Nice BEAUTY Skin Tight

Keep your young teenager’s skin youthful and free of blemishes with these simply, easy-to-follow tips.

Flawless skin, zero wrinkles, the ability to experiment with make-up are all part and parcel of youthful skin – the kind you wear with pride from the time you turn a teenager to when you hit your late 20s. But they too come with their own set of baggage. Easy susceptibility to zits and pimples and a face that suddenly develops a mind of its own, oily one day and dry as a bone the next. So what does a teenager do? Here’s how to make sure your skin always stays flawless:

The Essential Must-Knows For Flawless Skin
1. Hygiene is of utmost importance. If the hormonal changes have caused the skin to be sensitive, use cleanser. Do not rub the skin hard. Wash it often enough only to remove excess oil. Otherwise you are unnecessarily over-drying the skin and may change its pH. Lowering the pH can make the skin sensitive and also more vulnerable to infection.
2. Use a thick coat of a suitable sunscreen at least 2-3 times a day regardless of its PSF (sun protection factor).
3. If you have oily skin, use an oil free day-time moisturiser that has an SPF 15. Exposure to sun can lead to discolouration and acne.
4. It’s important to keep your skin clean with a suitable face wash.
5. Remember to use a good oil free sunscreen on face and neck, 2-3 times a day.
6. Dandruff is most definitely your biggest enemy. So use an anti-dandruff shampoo at least once a week.
7. By the time you hit your late teens, start using eye creams and lip balms with SPF. If you are the outdoorsy sporty type then always remember to rub on some oil-free sunscreen or sunblock with SPF 30 when heading out.
8. Remember if you are prone to acne, oily products are an absolute no-no. Stay away from the hair spray and gel. They have oils that are the reason you break out on the forehead or around your hairline. But if you absolutely need that perfect hairspray then try keeping them away from your face. Cover your face with a towel when you’re spraying on the hair spray.
9. Use a face mask or a gentle exfoliator once a week to remove dead skin. These are treatments and not just cleansers so ensure that you use them on clean, damp skin.
10. If your skin tends to break out easily and often then avoid tight caps or bandanas on your head. Wear loose shirts and stay away from tight outfits that don’t allow your skin to breathe.
11. And this is definitely a no-no. Stop squeezing or pressing the pimples. This could scar the surrounding normal tissue too.
12. Don’t wash your face too often. It can cause skin irritation.

Treat Yourself "BEAUTY"

If you have it, flaunt it. We tell you how you can make your favourite feature look most irresistible on this special occasion.

Make Eyes
· Start by using an eyelash curler. This will open up your eyes and make it easier for you to wear makeup.
· Apply light eyeshadow on the eyelids, blending it gently towards the brow bone. Brighten up the eyes by adding a dot of gold on the inside corners.
· With a steady hand, line your eyes with a black eye-liner. Create a winged effect by extending the liner half an inch outward from the corner of each eye.
· Apply a coat of mascara to the lashes to complete the look.

Expert tip: Try mixing gold pigment with eye gloss and use it as an alternative to eyeshadow.

Sculpt Those Cheekbones
· For an even skin tone, dot your face with a cream-based foundation and blend in gentle outward strokes. Pay special attention to the under eye areas.
· Take a peach-pink cheek colour and apply it on your cheeks using a thick brush, starting from the hollow, working towards the temples. Remember to blend it completely so that no harsh lines are visible.
· For a glam look, brush some bronzing powder on the cheeks.
· To add an extra dimension, use a hint of shimmer powder on top of the cheekbones.

Expert tip: Those with dark circles should avoid using shimmer powder on the cheeks, it will only draw attention to your problem.
Do Your Lips A Service
· Begin by outlining your lips with a lip liner to define their shape. Choose a liner in a shade similar to your lip colour.
· Fill in the base of your lips with the lip pencil. This will give the lip colour more depth and staying power.
· Using a lip brush, fill in your lips with a rich berry hue – one of the hottest lip colour trends of the season.
· Top with a transparent gloss or lip gloss of a similar shade as the lip colour for a glam effect.

Expert tip: When putting on lip gloss, a little goes a long way. To create the illusion of fuller lips, apply the gloss only to the middle of the lower lip, rather than to the entire surface.

Makeup tips every brunette should know

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. As is the case with brunette girls’ makeup. While I doubt Newton ever worked behind a MAC counter, with every makeup tip I could offer a brunette, there’s a contradictory—yet equally appealing—suggestion. The biggest, most encompassing tip I can give is mix things up. Mix up the colors, mix up the looks, and always always mix up the emphasis. Don’t wear dark eyeshadow and liner in combination with burgundy lips or you’ll risk looking overdone.

Tip #1: You can get away with color. There are some sultry looks lighter haired girls can’t pull off as well as you without toning them down a notch. The traditional, sexy smoky look is much better left to the raven-haired girls, especially when they have dark skin, too. Mixing blacks and grays with nearly excessive amounts of eyeliner and a hint of silver shimmer for a night out looks stunning with the right frame around it and can look even scary with a light hair color attempting to embrace it.

Tip #2: You can get away with bare-faced beauty. You don’t have to use the color recommended above. Flesh tones look just as gorgeous on brunette girls (and are more appropriate for daytime wear unless you work on the set of a soap opera) as the darker, nighttime counterparts. Brunettes with fair skin can choose a light brown with a hint of peach or pink to warm it up, golden shimmer optional, to brighten their faces up without looking like they’re wearing any makeup. A thin line of brown eyeliner on the top lid and a single coat of mascara makes your eyes pop without screaming, “Look at my makeup!” Add a bit of coral-pink blush and some clear lipgloss and you’re done.

Tip #3: Wear color on your lips to avoid looking washed out. A nice medium pink or coral will add color to your cheeks and brighten your eyes. You’ll look more awake, whether your skin’s alabaster or ebony. You can skip every other type of makeup in a crunch, but slick on a lip color.

Tip #4: Wear icy bronzes, golds, pinks, or any other light color to plump up the appearance of your lips and add contrast with your hair. Not to mention this one’ll bring out your eyes. This one gives you the opportunity to look like the portrait of wide-eyed innocence if you play your eyes up right. Put a little navy shadow on your lids, line just the tops, and go heavy on the mascara. There’s not a guy who could resist your gaze.

Tip #5: Bronzer is your friend. At least some point in every girl’s life, she wishes she had a tan if she doesn’t. A lot of brown haired girls feel they don’t quite look right if they don’t have dark skin to match (I’m not agreeing with that notion, just offering tips). Some of us are so fair skinned we couldn’t get a tan if we were left on a deserted island for 3 years or, on a more realistic scale, hopped in the tanning bed every day for six months. Bronzers and sunless tanners are healthier alternatives to tans for those who can achieve them from the sun and the only option for those who can’t tan. So if you need a tan to feel good about yourself, turn to sunless tanners and bronzers for an instant boost. And they do look very good with dark hair.

Tip #6: If you’re pale, love it. Renee Zelwegger and Reese Witherspoon recently went brunette with their pale skin. Did they hop in the tanning beds or go for heavy airbrush tanning? Nope! And you know what? They still look hot.

Tip #7: Red lipstick during the day is a faux pas. Even though this is a tip for everyone and not just brunettes, I decided to throw it in. Bright red lips during the day are usually a bit too shocking on everyone else’s eyes. Tone it down a little. Just because you have dark hair and red lips look outstanding with it, you don’t have to wear it all the time. If you love red too much to let it go, opt for a gloss version. It’s sheerer and juicy, not scandalous.

Tip #8: Sport the ruby lips if you wish! Don’t wear bold reds during the day but matte wine lipsticks can look fine for daytime wear if you keep your eye makeup muted and your hair’s on the darker end of the brunette spectrum.

Tip #9: Wear brown shadow: Brown shadow looks good with all hair colors and eye colors. It works especially well with brunettes because it ties their face and hair into one complete picture. Added bonus: it makes blue eyes really stand out (try bronze for blue eyes!).

Tip #10: Skip the brown and be different! Of all the hair colors out there, brown haired girls can get away with the most palettes. If your eyes are brown, you can wear any color of eyeshadow available. With more flamboyant colors, you stand out in a crowd. You may even get labeled as the fashion queen at your workplace. And that’s never an insult.

BEAUTY Streamline Your Make-up Kit

Is your beauty bag bulging with products you never use? We reveal the latest essentials that will revolutionise your look!

What’s lurking in the bottom of your make-up bag? For many of us, the answer would be a few genuine essential items, which are far outnumbered by powders that don’t match our colouring and a multitude of unused lipsticks that looked great in the shop, but not on.
If you don’t look better, younger or fresher when you apply your make-up, it’s time to rethink what you keep in your kit. Beauty counters are literally packed with promising new products in gorgeous colours - why, then, do many of us find overhauling our choices so daunting?
Most of us tend to stick with products we find easy to use, or hold on to just in case we ever need them. However, just changing a few items is all that’s needed to totally revitalise your look.
Read on to find out which products to ditch and which to save, as well as the new core essentials every woman should have in her kit to help her look beautiful every day.
Your Make-Up Amnesty
Tip out all your products and ask yourself the following questions for each one:
Is it past its prime? Here’s a general shelf-life rule: Foundation, concealer, lipgloss and lipstick have a life of up to 18 months, and it’s okay to keep powder, blusher and bronzer for up to two years. Eyeliner and eye shadow have just a year, while it’s time to buy mascara after six months.

Is it an expensive mistake? Foundations and lipsticks tend to be the most common beauty blunders, as we often buy the wrong shades. It is suggested to keep lipsticks to mix together for a new shade, but sometimes you have to be brutal. If a foundation is the wrong shade for your skin, there’s usually no way to salvage it - expensive or not.

Is it the wrong shade for the season?

As we move to autumn, put aside the light, shimmery shades that work with a summer glow: you need different shades and textures now. And, come spring, you’ll need to do the same thing again.

Is it embarrassing? Anything that’s broken, missing a lid or that’s nearly run out needs to go. Similarly, items that smell odd (a sign they’ve gone off) or are dirty and can’t be cleaned, also need to be thrown in the bin.

Have you been using it for years? If you’ve had certain staples in your kit for years, get a second opinion to see if they still suit you, or if it’s time to try something new. Ask an honest friend - you’re too used to how you look to determine if a product is working for you.

Do you have any ‘wow’ items? If you don’t have anything that gives you a special effect, like a gorgeous eyeliner or perhaps some eyelash curlers, you should probably invest in one.

FIVE SENSES THE WAY TO BE BEAUTY

Sexy In A Snap!

The secrets for fast and easy ways to vamp up your allure!

1. Get An All-Over Glow
Apply dry oil after you shower so that it will sink in before you dress. There’s nothing better than a pair of well-oiled legs with a slight shine.

2. Loosen Up
Artfully undone looks more fun: Back-comb your hair at the crown and loosely pin it half up, half down for a Brigitte Bardot vibe. No need to add shine serum - you want rumpled, just-out-of-bed sultriness, not polish.

3. Make A Statement
Entangle five necklaces of varying thickness and pin together with a brooch. It’s this season’s chunky necklace without the whopping price tag.

4. Beat Those Bedroom Eyes
To give your liner a lived-in look, line the inner rims of your upper and lower lids with a creamy black pencil and blink three times to smudge.

5. Try A Lighter Lip

Bold red is always a classic, but for a fresher look, use your finger tip to press on a coral or peach lipstick, then top it with a clear gloss. It’s a luscious effect that doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard.

6. Have A Rosy Outlook
Mimic the flush you get from exercise with cream blush on the apples of your cheeks. Warm the blush between your fingertips, then press it in - makeup looks most natural when it melts into skin.

7. Get A Little Dirty
Skip the shampoo once in a while and instead cleanse with conditioner alone.

8. Dangling Modifier
Bring attention to your neck with long earrings. It’s a very attractive region of the body.

9. Hit The Spot
Apply perfume at the neck and at your other pulse points. Or put it on damp skin after you shower so it’ll subtly come through your clothing.

10. Keep Your Lips Swell

Sprinkle baking soda on a baby toothbrush and gently buff lips in small, circular motions to remove dry flakes. The vitamin draws blood into the lips, and they’ll swell and deepen in colour.

Eye shadows - Choosing for Yourself

The eye shadow you choose should flatter and enhance your eye colour and the shape of your eyes, as well as your whole appearance. The skin colour, the eye colour, and your life style need to be considered when choosing and using eye shadow. Although there are no hard and fast rules for choosing the colour of your eye shadow it is best to find out by experimenting with colours. But always harmonise the colour of the eye shadow with that of your skin and your eyes. Whatever the colour, it should be blended in well, so that there are no harsh lines. Aim always for a natural look.
Purpose of Eye Shadow

Eye shadow goes on each entire lid and sometimes in the space between your lids and your eyebrows. It comes in a variety of colours and also several different forms, including cream (good for dry skin), matte (good for oily skin) and pencil (good for all types of skin).
Different Forms of Eye shadows

Apart from colour, there is a choice of forms of the eye shadows. You can choose from pressed powders, pencils, sticks, gels, crayons and creams. Pressed powders are still the most popular form of shadows, because they are the easiest to apply and control. These are available in pearly and matt textures. The effect is not long lasting, but if you apply them with a wet brush, you can get a deeper effect and increase the staying qualities of the colour.

The cream based eye shadows are oil or wax based. They are best suited for dry lids and should be avoided on oily lids. Sticks are a firmer form of cream shadow and look quite like lipsticks. Pencils have, however, almost totally replaced sticks and crayons. They have a high colour and filling ability. Gels are suited for oily skins. These give a long lasting, subtle and translucent effect. Liquid shadows also have a long lasting effect, but are difficult to apply because it is difficult to get an even flow of colour with them.

How to apply makeup for your model photo shoot

You most likely already know how to apply makeup for everyday use but there are a few things that are different in applying makeup for a model photo shoot. It's not that difficult to learn and if you follow the tips below, you will be on your way to better makeup results for your model session.

Apply a heavier coat

The first key to model makeup is to simply fix your face as if you were going out for the evening, wearing more than for daytime use.

Create extra contrast and especially use more powder. I cannot stress powder enough. This is essential!

To achieve that natural look in your model portfolio, apply a little more than you would in your daily activities and even more than you would if you were going out for the evening.

When you look in the mirror you will feel that you are wearing too much makeup but remember that the studio lights will reduce the amount of makeup you have on so don't worry.

How do you achieve the model look? Follow the simple steps listed here and, with a little practice, you should be able to get the results you're after and have a successful makeup session.

Moisturizer & Concealer

First, moisturize your face thoroughly and then follow with concealer. The concealer you use for photos should be 2 or 3 shades lighter than your skin tone.

You will use concealer in order to hide blemishes, to lighten your eyes and you'll need concealer to hide any discoloration around the eyes or lips.

The Foundation

Now, you'll want to use a good, solid foundation and apply it evenly over the face.

Foundation application is very simple but is misunderstood by even some professional makeup artists.

Match the foundation to your chin and neckline. If you miss this step, you and the camera will see a sudden change of color from your face to the neck or upper chest.

Some makeup artists even apply makeup to the neck and shoulders! Why you ask? To match the body to the face. You will have no need to apply makeup to your body (except to hide blemishes) if you follow the suggestion of matching your makeup from the face to the neck.

When you have completed applying your foundation, just apply the rest of your facial makeup as you would normally but apply in heavier amounts for the camera and lights.

Powder

Powder! Powder! Powder! Be sure to remember the powder!

I'm sure you've seen makeup artists apply makeup to actors to get them ready for a TV show or the movies. If you have you must have noticed that the makeup artist is constantly patting the actors face with a powder applicator. Have you wondered why?

The reason is that powder, and lots of it, is nescessary to create that beautiful matte finish which is always present in a great portfolio. "But I never use powder." you may say. Even so, please use it for your model photo shoot. Powder makes the difference between a beautiful photo and just a photo.

When applying powder, use a lighter shade under the eyes to help eliminate any shadows or dark circles that the concealer didn't take care of.

Applying Facial Makeup - The Oval Look

Now that you understand the importance of using powder, apply makeup below your cheekbones and under your chin to create an oval look to the face. Be sure to blend the makeup in and not create distinct lines. Put this makeup on a little darker but not too heavy.

Lip Color

In order for your lips to stand out and be noticed, be sure that your lip gloss is a solid color and at least one shade deeper than you normally wear it.

Your lip liner should be the same color as your lipstick.

DO NOT WEAR BLACK LIP LINER!

Stay away from any frosted lip colors entirely because they hardly show up on film and will give the illusion that you are not wearing lip color at all. The only time you would wear frosted is when it's for some effect the photographer wants to accomplish.

Blush

Apply your blush a little heavier than normal but neatly and precisely. Don't over or under apply blush. This will also be in accordance to the effect you or your photographer want to accomplish with your look for this particular model shoot.

Eye Makeup

In order to produce the best results, your eye liner needs to be applied starting from the outside of the lower part of the eye and extending about 3/4 length toward the inner part.

Really work on those eyes and lips. These are the two key features in a model photo shoot as with just about any other people photography so get this right!

You'll need to use an eye shadow to compliment the rest of your makeup and clothing but use a light shade so that your eyes will appear more alive.

Start by applying your eye shadow to the upper eye lid and above the eye just below the eyebrow.

The reason you'll want this a light shade is because a darker shade will create an illusion of darkening of the eyes and will give the appearance that you did not get enough sleep the night before which is not going to be very flattering to you. Stay with a light eye shadow to be sure and create the best results for your eyes. If done right, the person looking at your photos will be drawn in directly to your eyes first which is what you normally want to achieve.

Take it With You!

Lastly, be sure and take your makeup case with you to your model photo shoot. You will need to touch up your makeup during the photo shoot and will always need to add powder as the day moves on. The photographer or makeup artist will not likely have your brand and you certainly don't want to halt the shoot while you go home for more makeup.

Do your best to follow these steps when applying makeup for your model photo shoot and you should get good results from your photo session.

If you plan to do your own model makeup, please apply your makeup before leaving home for the session to make the photo shoot go faster and smoother.

How to Choose Fragrances?

A good perfume or cologne could prove to be an expensive affair for many people. However, it can give the best value for money rather than fragrances like deodorants, body sprays and colognes. How to choose fragrances is a question which many people are perplexed about. You can choose a perfume which has the capacity of staying for a longer period of time. Just a whiff of perfume is sufficient to keep you smelling great for many hours.

Perfumes act well and give you enough relief when you are crammed in a crowded bus. If you want to hike your appeal to impress a guy or a gal, you can do a little bit of investigation before you go for the perfect fragrance. You need to find out his or her favorite fragrance and dab some of that perfume. If you can feel some chemistry simmering, you can noticed in a jiffy of time. Here are some tips on how to carry perfume or cologne in style:
Perfume etiquette

It is not apt to drench in perfume just because you enjoy the fragrance. If you do apply too much of perfume on your body, your humongous cloud of vapor will follow you wherever you go and it can leave people choking on the smell for hours after you leave the place.
Here are some tips how to choose fragrances:
Choose your perfume depending on the occasion you want to use it for.
A party, a meeting with couple of people, a day at the office, a corporate event demands a little sophistication and hence you can choose to go with a mild scent that does not jerk an unsuspecting nostril.
If you want to make a splash at a wedding or a party, go in for stronger perfume, but don’t go for anything that is too loud.
Applying perfume
The fragrance will sustain for a longer period and you will not soil your clothes.
Do not rub your wrists together after spraying on perfume as this tends to reduce the effect of the top layer of perfume.
If you like to be flamboyant you can splash some perfume into the air and walk through it and get soaked in perfume!
You should keep the spray away from your nostrils. Otherwise you might end up inhaling the chemicals. This could cause breathing trouble.
How much perfume should you apply? One round of application to all the mentioned pulse points will do. If you tend to perspire a lot, you could go in for round two of application.

While choosing a skirt you have to be very careful and select a style that suits well to your shape. If you are a little larger on your bottom half, then wear skirts that flare out at your bottom. If you are small on your bottom half and bigger on your top, then only choose a print; so that the attention gets drawn to the right area of your body.

So wear a belt of same color as your dress with a good-looking buckle on it. This makes your hips look slim.

It is best you wear dresses made of a firmer material so that they will hold the shape in case you are a little flabby. Shoes

Shoes are essential part of your fashion. They can make you look casual or smart, in whatever way you want. A wide choice of sandals are available that range from flat Indian ones to those with a high wedge heel. A wedge heel is suitable for women of any age. Moderate heels are the right choice for anyone. Fashion Care for Your Nails

It is your face that everyone looks at first and then it is your nails that tell more about yourself. So you definitely need to take better care of your nails. Groom them weekly, moisturize them daily, protect them from the sun, and take proper care of your cuticles. By doing these you can expect the best nail care. The following are some tips on how to deal effectively with various nail care problems.

Brittle nails

These are generally caused by sun exposure, taking a poor diet or using commercial nail hardeners for a long time. Avoid using hardeners because they contain formaldehyde, a chemical that has a drying effect on your nails. Instead use a waterproof coating. It seals moisture in your nail and pushes away water and dirt. A waxy lip balm is the best and effective option for softening your nails.

Hangnails

Hangnails are normally caused by picking and biting nails, exposure to chemicals and detergents or nail neglect. Remove these hangnails using a sharp cuticle nipper. Don't use a dull and cheap cuticle nipper because it may create more damage. Using massage cuticle oil, lotion or cream once in a day can help prevent hangnails completely. If your cuticles are creating more pain, applying moisturizer twice everyday helps you a lot in dealing with the pain.

Ridges

Ridges usually are caused due to genetic reasons. Though you cannot avoid or cure the problem, you can smooth the ridged surface using a buffer and buffing cream. However, if the ridges are recent, then it may be a sign of anemia. Then you have to consult your doctor. These may be caused by applying much pressure and pushing during manicure. You should be gentle when grooming your nails, so that they grow back.
White spots

These are normally caused by: a blow to your nail, application of too much pressure on your nail matrix during manicure or generally. Let the white spots grow out. Be gentle when manicuring the nails because prodding beneath the cuticles may cause these spots.

Yellow nails

It is normally caused by not using base coat underneath the polish. It may also be a more serious nail fungus. The best treatment to deal with this problem is lightening the discolored nails using a whitening scrub having a mild abrasive. You can also use a remover that contains a lemon juice-like ingredient. This ingredient can bleach out the yellow.
Nail biting

There is no surefire way for stopping the nail biting habit. But getting a professional manicure every week can help a lot. You are less likely to bite your nails if they are even and polished. Also, if you feel better about your hands you won't feel like covering up your nails.

Top Tips for Party Makeup

Who doesn't want to become a highlight of the party and all you need to grab attention is have a perfect party make up that can set eyes on you. Here are some top tips for party make up which you can use to seek attention from crowd. For a glamorous evening look in a jiffy, you can add a few lashes to the outer corners of your eyes. You use waterproof glue and the eye lash will not come off until you want them to. For your lips, you can try mixing a true red lipstick with a gold or silver gloss. You could also reduce the strength of the red by mixing it with one of your neutral lip colors. You can keep the eyes simple and the cheeks simple with just a flush of color. Blush is often the last cosmetic that is used when doing makeup. The ways of applying blush differs with different types of faces. It is important to choose the right application of blusher since it can make your face look longer or wider.
Here are some tips which you can use while applying blush:
You can put on some shimmer on the highest point of cheekbone. This gives a sexy and cool look.

You can highlight the cheekbones by using a slightly darker shade on eyes. You can blend it with the cheek for a more natural look.
You need to use clean blush brushes. This can prevent bacteria transfer in skin.
When you are applying translucent powder, you can dilute powder blush. However, gel and liquid blush have to be washed off from the face and the makeup has to be redone again in such a case.
Cream blush can be used on lips for getting a soft color and this should be applied using the fingertip.
You can use a dusky pink blush and this can help warm and freshen up the face. This is especially on the areas below the ears. However, the blush on chin may not look good, if your neck is lighter than your face.
Frosted blush may not be something great to apply. Frost on lips or eyes are in fashion during parties at night. You can use them in the night to highlight the eyes. You can get that look by applying a light colored frosted eye shadow or lipstick. It should be in hue of colors like gold, silver, light pink, peach, champagne and beige. Frosted highlighting powder can also be used in your face.

Facial Hair Removal Tips

Facial hair can be very embarrassing, in case of women. If you are having unwanted facial hair, you may also be wondering on the best way to deal with it. Generally people go in for simplest methods like shaving and tweezing.

All lot of women use waxing treatment, this is done by applying hot or cold wax to the hairy spots and then using a tiny cloth pad the hair is pulled out in a jerk. This hurts a bit, and also the hair grows back. You have to get this done every four weeks or so, and is also expensive. Hair-removing chemicals, commonly known as depilatories, are available in various forms like cream, lotion, spray and gel. But these chemicals may cause irritation and it's better to keep away from them.

Here we are some effective treatments that help you in eliminating unwanted facial hair with minimal side effects.

Vaniqua

This is a prescription skin cream that can reduce the rate of hair growth. But it can be applied only around your mouth and chin. Like depilatories, it can irritate your skin. This hair-removal method can cause ingrown hairs that can be unsightly, and harmless.

Electrolysis

It is a more expensive and often extensive treatment. In this method, a tiny metal probe will be put into each hair follicle. Then the hair base will be destroyed by delivering an electric current. This treatment has to be repeated many times. But the hair loss will be permanent. It can be painful and may also cause scarring. There are also electronic tweezers available in the market. But they can not be effective and cannot permanently remove hair.

Lazer Treatment

It is also an expensive and often extensive treatment. It is a surgical technique. This should be done by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. You can get this treatment done in a salon with the help of a supervising physician. This process generally requires multiple treatments and hair loss also may not be permanent. You can expect only hair reduction and not complete hair elimination. You may have to make return visits to the salon. So plan your budget well before going for laser treatment. It works best for light-skinned and dark hair. But it is not effective for removing blond or gray hair.
Things to Keep in Mind

Some women get unwanted facial hair on the face, usually on the upper lip and chin, for many reasons like hormonal changes during menopause, genetics and side effects of some medications. Simple and non-surgical methods like tweezing, waxing and depilatories are the simple and best choices. If you can not notice enough difference, consult a dermatologist or a qualified physician for getting electrolysis or laser treatment.

Squats are effective and easy to do. They work on hips, thighs, and calves. To perform a squat, start at a standing position and bend your body at the waist and knees until you are almost sitting on your ankles, then lift yourself back into a standing position. For more effective squats, hold weights at your shoulders while performing your repetitions. The more weight that you use, the more muscle you will gain; however, to focus on muscle toning, use less weight so that you are able to perform more repetitions.
Walk at an average pace, and you will burn four calories per minute.

Slide your back down the wall as you walk your feet outward until you are bent to your desired levels at your waist and knees. To focus on muscle building, bend yourself into a sitting position. To focus on muscle toning, bend only about halfway to a sitting position.

Determining Your Clothing Personality

What is a clothing personality? It's your style. Think of any famous women, how do they dress? Do they tend to wear suits and tailored clothes or flowing dresses? Do they wear big bold jewelry or pearl studs?

While most of us may alter our dress style for a special occasion, day in and day out we are drawn to the style we are most comfortable in. Determining your clothing personality will save you time and money because you will know what type of clothing works best for you. And knowing this will keep you out of trendy clothes you will never feel quite right in. It will also help you narrow your focus while shopping - saving you loads of time and money.

Let's use four personality choices to narrow down our look. From the list below, choose the person you would most like to trade wardrobes with. Remember to choose the clothing style you would feel the most comfortable in - not the lifestyle of the celebrity you'd most like to have.
Bold
Cher, Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe

Classic
Jackie O, Katharine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Nicole Kidman

Naturalist
Renee Zellweger , Faith Hill, Julia Roberts, Rachel Ray

Romantic
Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Goldie Hawn

A Bold Clothing Personality wants to be noticed and remembered. She likes the extreme of fashion glamour and is always on the cutting edge. Her closet is full of bright colors and flashy prints. Everyday should be a red carpet day for the Bold Clothing Personality. She tends to love bold accessories and dramatic designs. Her cosmetic line is going to be color driven such as M.A.C or Nars.

The Classic Clothing Personality likes to look good without putting a lot of thought into it. Her closet is full of basic styles in her clothing color wheel. And she chooses colors that enhance without drawing attention. She tends to wear more pants suits than dresses. Even her special occasion pieces are sophisticated and understated. For accessories, she prefers a pearl strand or diamond studs. She is more into skin care than into color and is most likely a fan of Lancome or Clarins.

The Naturalist Clothing Personality is drawn to function over form. She will gladly trade the latest fashion trend for jeans and a t-shirt. Her clothes are made of natural fibers for their comfort and ease of care. Her accessories are minimal - earrings and a watch. Her make up will usually consist of little more than powder, lip gloss, and mascara - if any at all. Philosophy and Origins are the most likely cosmetic lines for the Naturalist.

The Romantic Clothing Personality is soft and fluid. She likes fabrics that drape and flow. She prefers earth tones and soft colors - although not necessarily dull or boring. She likes large prints, long flowing bottoms, lace tops and ruffled blouses. Her accessories are dainty chains and small pearl strands. Her makeup is soft and subtle in shades of pink and peach. Soft color lines like Clinique or Bobby Brown will be the cosmetic choice of the Romantic.
